Fun Halloween Costume Ideas for Kids
Halloween is the most fun time of the year for kids. What could be better than having a pass to dress up whatever you want for an entire day? And did someone forget treats?
While adults can only enjoy dressing up, kids have the liberty to go door-to-door asking for treats — one of the reasons why I hate growing up. But now if you’re old enough and have a kid of your own and looking to get inspired then you have come to the right place.
There are many options to choose from that any parent can get overwhelmed. If it’s your little ones first Halloween and you do want them to stand out, we got plenty of unique ideas. If you’re going to go the easy way, then we have something for you too. We have everything from scary to adorable ideas that any horror-loving parents could easily pull off.
Animated Movie Character Halloween Costume
We all know that almost every kid is obsessed with cartoon/animated movies. You get to be that person you have admired in your childhood for a day is the coolest thing.
The best thing about this idea is that it has a lot of options, and it makes your kid the happiest. You can ask your child what animated character they’d like to be or you could pick one yourself. Your child could be Kiki from Kiki’s Delivery Service or something popular like Olaf from Frozen. The options are endless. Moreover, cartoon characters costumes are widely stocked everywhere during Halloween time.
While fishing for ideas, we found some that are quite unique. A girl dressed up as Raven from Teen Titans, and another kid chose to be Toothless from How to Train Your Dragon. One parent kept the cute and scary ratio in mind by dressing up their kids as Corpse Bride from Tim Burton’s movie. One tried being scary, but their kid was too cute, so they ended up being the cutest Cruella De Vil.
Important Figures/Celebrities Halloween Costume
With this, you have a lot to play around with. They can be politically or historically important figures. Celebrities could include anyone from a singer to a YouTube star since kids are so big on them these days.
We’re throwing in some ideas for you:
Animal Halloween Costume
Animal costumes exist in safe zones. They are easy to find/buy, easier to make in case you’re saving on those bills, bound to look cute and comfortable. It is an excellent option if you have babies because they are hassle-free. They are easier to carry as it doesn’t involve any props. You can find loads of tutorials which can teach you how to make one.
You kid is bound to look adorable in some of these:
If you want to go a mile ahead, you can be a little more creative. For example, there was a kid dressed as a mouse trapped in a mousetrap and another one where the kid was being eaten by a shark.
Food Halloween Costume
Food is also easier to work with and looks adorable. I think this category is made for babies. You could dress your kid as popcorn, and they will, without a doubt, look cute.
Stuff your little one in a sushi roll and have them for dinner at Halloween, not literally though. Some popular options are:
Family matching Halloween costume
It is great when the entire family gets to follow the theme. It is honestly a lot of fun pairing with your parent(s). From dads dressing up like a tower just so their daughter could be a Rapunzel to the parents dressing up as Aladdin and Jasmine and dressing their tiny one as Abu.
We went searching and compiled the best family Halloween costumes for you! These are scary, cute, and creative.
Funny Halloween Costumes
Although we know, Halloween is all about spooky and scary things, but someone has to keep the humor alive. And, since on Halloween you get to dress up as anything, this means you can be as ridiculous, as silly, as crazy as you want to be and no one will bat an eye unless you created something very creative that has everyone looking your way.
It’s time to get the right kind of attention.
Some of these are my personal favorites:
I am sure we have given you enough ideas to work with, enough that they will last you for a couple more years. Halloween is just around the corner, so make sure you pick something in time. Your kids won’t like it if they don’t get to be what they want or you aren’t prepared. Whether it is your kids first or fifth Halloween, make sure it’s memorable, and they have a ball
